Whitesburg: George Malcolm Thurman, age 60 of Whitesburg, passed away, Friday, March 5, 2010 at Morristown-Hamblen Health Care System following an extended illness. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Thurman was preceded in death by his father, D.M. Thurman, Jr.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Jasmine Thurman, granddaughter, Chelsea Sanders both of Surgoinsville; mother, Annalee Thurman; brothers, Morgan Thurman and wife, Barbara, Hal Thurman and wife, Lorie; nephew, Adam Thurman and wife, Candice all of Rogersville.

Calling hours will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.

Graveside service will be conducted 3:00 P.M., Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Bacon Family Cemetery. With military honors provided by the Hawkins County Color Guard.

Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville is serving the Thurman family.
