Hello Curtis. Mom and I just wanted to express our sorrow concerning Erma's passing. It's always terribly difficult to lose someone you love. Erma was such a good person, and she lived a long, happy, and adventurous life--filled with love and service to others. Our two families shared many happy times together when you and I were kids! Christmases, birthdays, and fishing vacations in northern Minnesota, are all events I remember with great fondness. Earl, Erma, Jim, and Lucy (our folks) whiled away many an hour playing rubber after rubber of bridge (while you and I were likely out causing mischief somewhere-or-another!). We're thankful that we were privileged to know Erma, and we hope for only the best for you and your's during this trying time! / P.S. We intend to make a modest donation to the Ames Woman's Club in honor of Erma.

Hello Curtis, We are sending our sympathy in the death of Erma, but also a celebration of a long and fully lived life. I remember you of course when you all lived in Ames and when we visited your family and when we all attended St. John's Episcopal church. Our daughter Chris P Hunziker was about your age if I remember correctly and she still lives in Ames. Don is now 88 and has retired from the law practice and unfortunately has Alzheimers. We have moved into Green Hills Retirement Center in Ames. We will not be in Ames at the time of the burial on Oct 7 as we will be in CO visiting our son Patrick and his family. All best wishes to you and your family and our sympathy but also our pleasure in knowing two such special people as your parents. Jan Payer

Curtis, we will all miss your mom. She was a special lady, who always had such a great smile, and always interested in what you were doing. I still remember every Christmas and birthday as I was growing up, she sent a 2 dollar bill. Erma was so proud of you and your family and bragged a lot about your children. Unfortunately Ron and I will be flying home from a trip to the Canadian Rockies the day of your mom's service. We will be there in spirit. Sending your family lots of hugs!

Curt, we are so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was quite a woman. You must be so proud of her. I didn't realize she had moved to Tennessee. I'm so glad your grandchildren had the happiness of knowing her more! Prayers to you and your family!
