James O. ":Jeep" Bennett

Garfield, AR: James O. "Jeep" Bennett, age 84 of Garfield, Arkansas formerly of Rogersville, passed away, Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Circle of Life Hospice Center following a stroke.  He was saved at an early age and was a charter member of Looneys Chapel Baptist Church.  Jeep was retired from AFG and he was also a farmer and dairyman.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.  Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his parents, Lillard and Leona Bennett; son, Michael Lynn Bennett; great-grandson, James Alan Bennett; sisters, Bessie Christian, Cecil Lewis, Dorothy Barrett and Florence Williams.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Wilma Bennett; special long time friend, Sherron Christian of Garfield, AR; son, Rick Bennett and wife, Debbie of Mooresburg; brother, Herman Bennett and wife, Joann of Rogersville; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephew and friends.
Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Highland Cemetery with Rev. Ray Mulliins officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the Hawkins County Color Guard and Tennessee National Guard.
