Kathryn West Derrick

Rogersville: Kathryn West Derrick, age 79 of Rogersville, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at her residence following an extended illness.  She was a member of Persia Baptist Church.  Kathryn was a dedicated administrative assistant for Rogersville First Baptist Church for 22 years. She was a disaster case worker for American Red Cross. The joy of her life was her three children, her four grandchildren, her sisters and brothers. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Leo and Mable Stinger West.; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille West and Paul Holdway; sister-in-law, Gerry West.
She is survived by her daughters, Amy "Rorie"  Derrick, Paula Fugate and husband, Brent,  all of Rogersville; son, John Derrick and wife, Amy of Gig Harbor, WA; grandchildren,  Harrison and HadenJames Fugate, Jonah and Toby Derrick; brothers, William "Bill"  West and wife, Nancy of Bristol, TN, and James West of Rogersville; one niece, Wendy Lipe; one great niece, Ashleigh Arvizu and one great nephew, Matthew Helton. Kathryn thought of her son-in-law, Brent  and her daughter-in-law, Amy  as her very own children. The family would like to thank U Save Drug Center for their kindness and professionalism.
Visitation hours will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Funeral service will be conducted 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Derrick and Rev. Kevin Wisecarver officiating.  Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens
