Mary Kate (Gray) Hawkins

Bulls Gap:  Mary Kate (Gray) Hawkins, age 95 of Bulls Gap, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 16, 2019 after a period of declining health. Mary was saved at an early age and was a member of Speedwell Missionary Baptist Church. She worked with her son for several years at Hawkins Music Store in Rogersville.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Carl Hawkins who passed away, November 29, 2018; son, Wayne Hawkins; parents, George Thomas and Della Minerva Gray; sisters, Martha Frankenburg, Ruth Wheeler and Minnie Pearl Gray; brothers, George William Gray, Sr., Charles Howard Gray and Fred Eugene Gray.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon (Dale) Long; son, Roger (Judy) Hawkins; grandchildren, Stacie (Nick) Russell, Josh (Heather) Hawkins, and Matt Hawkins; great-granddaughters, Paislie Nickole Russell and Ava June Hawkins; sister, Betty Grigsby; sister-in-law, Launa Wheeler; several nieces and nephews.  Special thanks to Danny Ball, and Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice of Morristown, especially Beth and Sherman.

Visitation hours will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday, February 18, 2019 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.

Funeral service will be conducted 7:00 P.M., Monday, February 18, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dannie Bell and Elder John Arnott officiating.  Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 19, 2019 At Otes United Methodist Church Cemetery.
