Sammy Seay Obituary

SAMMY NO LONGER FIGHTS LIFE’S BATTLES HE NOW RIDES FREE

Bulls Gap: Sammy Seay, age 67, of Bulls Gap, left us Sunday, May 20, 2018.  Sammy requested no ceremonies, no funerals and no celebrations. His wishes were simply to leave this ole world privately surrounded by family members to travel to a land of peace and love where there will be no more pain. He will be with his Heavenly Father, his earthly Mother and Father, James H. "Charlie" and Lola Ruth Seay, his son, Sammy James Seay and many other loved ones waiting for him on the other side.  Sammy’s life consisted of a love of the land and mountains.  He loved digging in the earth.  He was an Environmental Contractor and spent the past 35 years installing and removing gas tanks and building gas stations.  While serving two years in Vietnam, Sammy had a passion for restoring old vehicles, army vehicles and equipment.  For survival during the Vietnam War, Sammy, along with his buddies, built a gun truck they called, "Ace of Spades".  He served on that gun truck in Vietnam and later, returning home, built a replica of it in 2002.  He has traveled through many states and traveled many miles with the "ACE OF SPADES", and shared his story with many people.  The Smithsonian channel has showed several movies of Sammy’s passion for the United States of America.  He was very proud to have served his country.  His Motto was, "GOD Bless the U.S.A."

Sammy left behind many loved ones; his wife of 39 years, Vicki Newton Seay; sister and caregiver, Imogene Lawson; special niece and caregiver, Sheri Ives; granddaughter, Kristen Seay; step-grandson, Corbin; daughter-in-law, Christina Seay; brothers-in-law, David Lawson, Gary Newton and wife, Shirley, Paul Newton and wife, Sharon, Charlie Newton and wife, Betsy; nieces,  Roseanna Newton Self and husband, J.R., Megan Newton Rimer and husband, Chris, Emily Newton Reese and husband, Joshua; nephews, Jamie Lawson and wife, Noemi, Rodney Lawson, Hiram Newton and wife, Katie,  Hugh Newton, Hunter Newton and wife, Brittini, and Benjamin Newton; great-nieces,  Emily Lawson, Morgan Stewart, Kathleen Self, Tyna Newton, Pauline Lynette Reese; great-nephews,  Ben Ives, Ethan Lawson, Matt Ives, Gabe Lawson, Carter Stewart, John Marshall Self, Daniel Newton, Caleb Rimer, Kirk Newton, Rudy Newton and Eli Newton;
