Bulls Gap: Stephen "Yamaha" Goodson, age 63 of Bulls Gap, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 15, 2019 at Church Hill Healthcare and Rehab following a brief illness. He was saved at a young age and was a member of Walkers Missionary Baptist Church. Yamaha retired in 2016 from TRW in Rogersville after 39 1/2 years of service.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a heart as big as all of the outdoors. Yamaha was blessed with a host of lifelong friends and neighbors, many of which he considered family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ona Lee (Brown) Goodson; maternal grandparents, Oliver and Ader (Fields) Brown; paternal grandparents, Wiley and Cora (Wright) Goodson; several aunts, uncles and cousins; special friend, Ralph "Big Daddy" Chestnutt.
He is survived by his siblings, Kenneth (Debra) Goodson of Whitesburg, Glenda (Lonnie) Wilder, Mark (Nancy) Goodson, Donna (Curtis) Gray all of Bulls Gap; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Michael "Flash" Gordon.
Visitation hours will be 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Funeral service will be conducted 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 19, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jonathan Jones and Rev. Bob Davis officiating. Burial will be in Brown's Mountain Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 in memory of "Yamaha".
