Alberta Jones, age 97, of Church Hill, passed away Monday evening, June 23, 2025, at Church Hill Post Acute and Rehab Center after a period of declining health. She was a member of Morrisetts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church for many years. Alberta retired as a cook and cafeteria worker from Kingsley Elementary and Ketron High School. She was preceded in death by her husband William K. Jones, son, Roger Jones, parents, Dora Gilbert and Clay Hensley, Sr. brothers, Clay Hensley, Jr., Edward Eugene, Bobby Joe, and William Max Hensley,
Survivors include her daughter Rhonda Greear and husband, Darrell of Church Hill, sisters, Mary Elizabeth Stallings and husband Houston, Betty Lee Perry and husband Neal, all of Knoxville, and Carolyn Ann Larkins and husband Jerry of Gray, a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation hours will be 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 26, 2025, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Eddie Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.
