Cheryl Douthat, age 59, of Whitesburg, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025, at UT Medical Center after a sudden and unexpected illness. She attended Hope Community Church. Cheryl retired from Washington County Schools as a school teacher and coach. She enjoyed teaching music and especially loved teaching math. Cheryl was the mother of all to Camp Davy Crockett. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Clinton and Shirley Fitzgerald Robinette and brother Travis Robinette.
She is survived by her husband Dale B. Douthat, daughters, Margaret Hofacker (Trevor) of Riverview, FL., Katie Williams (James) of El Paso, Tx., Samantha Lipsey (Brent) of Ludowici, Ga., son Seth B. Douthat (Shelby) of Kingsport, 9 grandchildren, Josh, Trent, Troy, Mariah, Addie, Makayla, Emily, Dean, and Bentley, two brothers Palmer Robinette(Trish) of Charleston, S.C., Tim Robinette of Charlotte, NC, several nieces and nephews, and adopted family of Camp Davy Crockett.
Family will receive friends 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 2101 Stadium Dr, Kingsport, TN.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev. James Sauceman officiating.
Those that will serve as Honorary Pallbearers will be the Wednesday Crew of Camp Davy Crockett.
