Ethel Morris Greene, age 97, of Rogersville, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at her residence following a period of declining health. She gave her life to the Lord as a teenager at Blackwater Union Church. She was a faithful member and custodian at Persia Baptist Church for over 50 years. Children were an important part of her life as she taught Sunday School and cared for children, both at church and in her home. She was preceded in death by her parents Morgan and Rhoda Collins, husband and father of her children, William "Bill" Morris, grandson Patrick Curtis, siblings, Zelda, Elizabeth, Homer, Hazel, Amos, Mary, Laura, Alice, Lloyd, and many friends.
Survivors include her husband Paul Greene, daughters, Diane Sexton and husband Gary of Rogersville, Detra Narrigan and husband Joe of Merritt Island, Fl, son Darrell Morris of Rogersville, stepdaughter Heather Greene of Oregon, six grandchildren, Kristi Vannoy (Sam), Lori Beth Dages (Michael), Ashley Jones (Steven), Kate Narrigan, Sam Narrigan, and Keia Matlock, nine great-grandchildren, Logan, Trey, Abbie, Brayden, Preston, Lily, Denver, Nathaniel and Jude, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2025, in the Broome Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2025, in the chapel with Rev. Kevin Wisecarver officiating.
Interment will follow in Persia Baptist Church Cemetery.
