George Cowden (June Bug) Dickenson, Jr., age 80, of Whitesburg, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Signature Health Care of Rogersville, following a period of declining health. He was a member of St. Clair Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by wife Mary Dickenson, son Willie Dickenson, parents, George and Graham Dickenson, and sister Joyce Dickenson.
Survivors include son Kelly A. Dickenson of Whitesburg, brother Bill Dickenson of Bean Station, sister Almeda Dickenson of Whitesburg. A special thanks to caregivers, Carl and Becky Rose.
Family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in the chapel of Broome Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in the chapel with Rev. Dixie Kelley and Ron Stroud officiating.
Interment will follow in Creeches Chapel Cemetery, Whitesburg.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Carl and Terry Rose, Dalton Manis, Mike Cobb, and Ed Stroud.
