Georgia LaRoy, 90, of Rogersville, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, at her residence following a period of declining health. She was a member of McCloud Baptist Church for over 50 years. Georgia was a certified nurse assistant and employed by Hawkins County Memorial Hospital for 26 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Buck Edward LaRoy, daughter Laura LaRoy Moore, parents, Levi and Essie Kittinger Fulkerson, sisters, Judy Saylor and Janie Kelly, son-in-law Charles Moore, brothers-in-law, Tom Saylor, Ed Kelly and Bill Stark.
Survivors include her son Tommy LaRoy (Sue) of Rogersville, one granddaughter Telia LaRoy Smith (Mark) of Elizabethton, one great-granddaughter Anastasia (Ana) Smith and one great- grandson Colton Miller, sister Nelda Stark and husband Bill of Bloomington, Illinois, brothers, Willard Fulkerson of Rogersville, Bobby Fulkerson and wife Kathy of Connecticut; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thank you to caregiver Dawn Myers and the staff of Amedisys for their exceptional care.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in the Broome Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Glen Richards and Rev. Jamie Burton officiating.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Highland Cemetery. Those who wish to go in procession to the cemetery will meet at the funeral home by 12:15 p.m.
