GOLDIA 'TOOTSIE' M. BATES

Rogersville:  Goldia "Tootsie" M. Bates, age 81, of Rogersville was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on Saturday, September 10, 2022.   A dedicated Christian, "Tootsie" was a member of Choptack Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and childrens church for many years.  She babysat many children that loved her so very much.  Tootsie was preceded in death by her parents Jessie and Kate Lark, sisters Mary Sexton and Margaret Owen, and uncle Harm Strong,

Left to cherish her memories are her beloved husband Lloyd Thomas Bates, sister Jackie Berry (Robert), sister-in-law Mary Price, brother-in-law Jim Bates (Barbara), Phil Bates (Bernice), several nieces and nephews, special nephew Brian Bates, and special "like son" Shannon Kesling.  The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Ballad Health HVMC and caregivers Megan, Ashley, and Cierra.

Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., Monday, September 12, 2022 at Choptack Baptist Church.  

Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Monday, September 12, 2022 at Choptack Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Osborne officiating.

Burial will follow in Choptack Cemetery
