Guy Lee Long, age 83, of Saint Clair, went to his heavenly home on June 3, 2024. Guy was saved at Persia Baptist Church and remained a member there until the time of his death. Guy was born to Sam and Etta Long on April 6, 1941. He grew up in the Whitesburg community. Guy married Gerry Long on July 1, 1963, and together they had three children. He retired from TRW. After his retirement, Guy enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed. Guy was preceded in death by parents Sam and Etta Kirkpatrick Long; brother-in-law, Charles Walker.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Gerry Long of the home; children, John and Vickie Long of Rogersville, Steve and Melissa Long of Saint Clair, Linda and Jimmy McBride of Saint Clair; grandchildren, Andrew and Shea Long of Knoxville, Samuel and Haven Long of Rutledge, Emily Long of Saint Clair, Taylor Long of Saint Clair, Caleb McBride of Nashville, Nathan McBride of Saint Clair; great-granddaughter expected in August, Sadie Long; sisters; Carolyn and Bud Lee of Saint Clair and Mildred Walker of Rogersville.
Visitation will be 5:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2024, in the Broome Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2024, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kevin Wisecarver officiating.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2024 at Liberty Community Cemetery.
