Jerry L. Stewart, age 83, of Rogersville, passed away Friday evening, February 27, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Jerry faithfully served as Trustee of Hawkins County for 27 years. Prior to his service as a Trustee, Jerry was a barber in Rogersville and Morristown. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a member of Tennessee Army National Guard. Jerry enjoyed playing on the basketball team during his service at Ft.Knox. He was preceded in death by his parents Monroe and Norma Price Stewart, sister Doris Hagood, brother Jimmy Stewart, sister-in-law Sandra Stewart and brother-in-law Larry Hagood.
Survivors include his wife Kaye M. Stewart, daughters, Missy Cole and husband Rex, Kelley Russell and husband Rocky, all of Rogersville, Kim McDavid Bailey and husband Mike of Kingsport, son Stewart McDavid and wife Angie of Rogersville, grandchildren, Addison Cole, Mallie Cole Trent (Collin), Kylie Russell Rozelle (Kyndal), Harper Russell, Landry Russell, Dylan Eidson, Marina McDavid Gibson (Keaton) and Macy McDavid, great-grandson Uriah Rozelle and great-granddaughter Eloise Eidson, sister Virginia Bounds of Louisville, Tn. and Joe Don Stewart of Bulls Gap, sister-in-law Rachel Stewart, and several nieces and nephews.
As requested by Jerry, a private family service will be held at a later time.
