JoAnn Hawkins Howe, age 90, of Rogersville, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Signature Healthcare of Rogersville, following a period of declining health. She was a faithful member to West View Baptist Church. JoAnn spent many years as a medical assistant at Lyons Hospital. She was preceded in death by husband of 60 years, Joseph E. "Pee Wee" Howe, Jr., parents Clayton and Lena Parker Hawkins, brothers, Claude Lyons Hawkins and Carl VanBuren Hawkins, sister-in-law Jewell Barker, brother-in-law Bill Barker, and step daughter Tammy Hurd.
Survivors include niece Cheryl Borders, nephew Steve Hawkins and wife Pam, all of Ohio, cousins, Donna Henderson of Rogersville, Lynn Parker and wife Carolyn, Patricia Mowell and husband Tony, Keith Hawkins and wife Wanda, all of Church Hill, numerous other cousins, and step granddaughter Jessica Davis of Alaska.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2026, in the chapel of Broome Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m., Monday July 6, 2026, in the chapel with Rev. Dean Buell officiating.
Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
