JOHN M. HENDERSON

John M. Henderson, age 81, of Rogersville, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at his residence after a period of declining health.  A graduate of East Tennessee State University, John received a Bachelor's Degree in Education, and later received a Master's Degree from Middle Tennessee State University, also in education. He enjoyed teaching drafting and photography at Hixson High School. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Rogersville. John was preceded in death by parents, Dudley Henderson and Edith Bass Henderson and stepfather, Roy Ward.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Evelyn Simpson Henderson, son John P. Henderson and wife Julie of Chattanooga, stepdaughters, Debbie Semkus and Karen Schmitt both of Ringgold, GA, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation hours will be 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2025, at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m, Friday, August 8, 2025, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Keith Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
