Joyce Imogene Goins, age 89, of Rogersville, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2024, at her home following a period of declining health. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Joyce retired from Hawkins County School System after 25 years of service as a teacher's aide. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. George L. Goins, son Tony Goins, daughter Vickie Pike, parents James and Robertle Bruner, sister Christine Bruner and brothers, Delbert and Carl Bruner.
Survivors include her daughters,Teresa Bass (Daryl), Debbie Collins, Michelle Byrd (Terry) all of Rogersville, 5 grandchildren, James E. Pike III (Erin), Christine Webb (Jason), Danielle Hamby (Eric), Jerome Smith (Chelsea), Loren Hamby (Travis), all of Rogersville, 8 great-grandchildren, Ana Smith, Collin Fugate, Charlie Webb, Lacee Hamby, Axel Hamby, Zoe Hamby, Dylon and Haily Grasso, brother Jimmy Bruner (Lena) of Rogersville, several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff at Amedisys Hospice and angel nurse Callie Peterson.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2024, in the Broome Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2024, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeremy Elkins and Rev. Scott Bradley officiating.
