Joyce Estell Gourley, age 84, of Rogersville, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025, at her residence following a period of declining health. She was a member of Rogersville First Baptist Church. Joyce retired from IPC & L after 40 years of service. She enjoyed watching UT Vols, knitting, and working outdoors in her flowers. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mattie Asbury Gourley, sisters, Thelma Shell, Marjorie Fields, Mildred Bowlin, Nancy Harville, Georgia Gourley, Margaret Gourley, and Sally Dean, brothers, John, William, George, and Walter Gourley, and special companion Johnny LeRoy.
Survivors include her son Jimmy Gourley (Beth) of Afton, granddaughters, Jessica Templeton (Brian) and Rachel Stewart, all of Rogersville, Kassie Johnson of Indiana and grandson Jeremy Johnson of Bristol, great-granddaughters, Madeline and Maggie Stewart, Natalie and Josie Templeton, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in Broome Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May, 28, 2025, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Keith Osborne officiating.
Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
