LEONA ALLEN Obituary

Rogersville: Leona C. Allen, age 100, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at her residence. She was an exceptional cook, seamstress, and gardener, mowing her own yard on her John Deere riding mower until her 98th birthday. She was a sage business person and mentally astute up until her passing. She was loved and admired by family and friends for her optimistic outlook on life and her indomitable spirit. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester A. Allen, parents Julius and Ada Mounce Carter.

Survivors include daughters Jan Soblit and husband Glenn Desselle of St. Petersburg, FL, Freida Joyner of Seminole, FL., nephew Jason Joyner of Greensboro, NC, step-daughters Nancy Wilkins of Harrisonburg, VA., and Thelma Louise Garrenton of North Myrtle Beach, SC.

Memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date.
