Leslie Handy, age 66, of Talbott, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, December 20, 2024, at Morristown- Hamblen Healthcare System. Leslie was retired from Mahle following 26 years of service. Leslie was "one of a kind." He was a gentle soul and loved by many for his kind spirit and genuine character. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Leslie Handy and Bernice Thompson Case, step-father Jesse Case, sister Karen Wilson, father-in-law Rev. Harold Manis and golden retriever Sadie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 yrs, Penny Manis Handy, daughter Katie Handy of Talbott, brother Ronnie Handy of Indianapolis, Indiana, mother-in-law Kathleen Manis Harrison of Rogersville, one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and special golden retrievers, Piper and Maple.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 26, 2024, in Broome Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2024, at Courtney Cemetery with Rev. Rip Noble officiating. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are ask to meet at the funeral home at 11:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
