MARIE J. COURTNEY

Marie J. Courtney, age 102, of Rogersville, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Durham-Hensley Health and Rehabilitation following a period of declining health.  She was a member of East Rogersville Baptist Church.  Marie was well loved by her community and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Julia Martin Johnson, brothers, Jim, Ance, Charles, Holland, Zed, Ellis, Ernest and Robert Johnson, sisters, Ella, Jane and Margaret Johnson and Nora Lawson.

Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Wayne Courtney (Barbara) of Greeneville, Glenn Courtney (Judy) of Rogersville, granddaughter Tammy Courtney, grandson Glen Allen Courtney (Abby), step-grandchildren, Tim Shelton, David Shell, Scott Morrell and Christie Ferguson,  great-grandchildren, Matt Courtney, Blake Renfro,Trey Courtney and Abby Courtney, numerous great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Highland Cemetery with Rev. Billy Ray Courtney officiating.  Those that wish to attend the graveside service please meet at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m.
