Mary Etta Deshong, age 86, of Rogersville, formerly of Hopewell, Pennsylvania, passed away, April 11, 2026, following a period of declining health. Mary was a Registered Nurse for 64 years at Mason Hospital and Huntington Hosptial in Pennsylvania. She was also a Director of Nursing Homes during her career. She was preceded in death by her parents Berniece Browell and Wilmer Hockenberry, Sr., twin brother James Hockenberry, sisters, Velma Brown and Ruby Becker.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Earl R. Deshong, Sr., daughter Pamela Madden of Bulls Gap, sons, Daniel Deshong of Elizabethtown, Pa., and Earl R. Deshong Jr. of Hollidaysburg, Pa., five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, sisters, Debra Hockenberry of Edgefield, SC., and Shirley Mellot of Manheim, Pa., brother Wilmer Hockenberry, Jr. of Everett, Pa., and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no memorial service at this time.
