Opal Clemons Hagood, age 80, of Rogersville, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Ballad Health Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. She was a member of Persia Baptist Church. Opal retired as a nurse from Holston Valley Hospital after many years of service. She enjoyed helping others and volunteered much of her time at Shepherd's Center. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Hagood, daughter Angela Denise Hamilton, granddaughter Emily Denise Justice, parents Archie and Leona Overbay Clemons, sisters, Carolyn Seymore and Linda Cupp, and brother Charles Ray Seymore.
Survivors include daughter Lisa (Mark) Hamilton Linkous, grandchildren, Bruce (Nicole) Estep and family, Ricky Estep and family, Jared Qualls and family, Ryan (Kara Beth) Linkous and family, Brent Linkous and family, Jonny Linkous and family, Cassidy (Jorge) Linkous Zamora and family, stepson Jeff Hagood and family of Knoxville, sister Shirley (James) King Goins of Ypsilanti, Michigan, several nieces and nephews, and special caregiver and friend, Mitzi (Kenny)Helbert.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 16, 2026, at Persia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jason Clevinger officiating.
For those that wish to attend the graveside service please meet at the funeral home at 12:45 p.m.
