PEGGY HICKS TRENT

Peggy Jane Hicks Trent, age 76, of Rogersville, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.    She was a born - again Christian, saved at an early age and a lifelong resident of Hawkins County.  Peggy was a member of Henard's Chapel Baptist Church.  She graduated from Rogersville High School in 1965, and then began her working career, working almost 30 years at Hawkins County Hospital, and then retiring from Rural Health in 2012.  She dedicated her life to loving her family and close friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents James B. and Daisy Ferrell Hicks, sisters Louise Wilder, Inez (Sissy) Aesque, brothers Luther Hicks, Joe Hicks, Claude Hicks, Jack Hicks, Roy Hicks and John Hicks, former husband and father of her son, Dennie Trent, special friend and pastor Rev. Richard Cassidy, and special pet and companion for many years, Bodhi.

Survivors include her beloved son Barry Trent of Rogersville, special daughter-in-law Sarah Trent of Rogersville, grandchildren, Tia Trent of Kingsport, Caden and Elijah Trent of Rogersville, special nephew Jeff Hicks of Rogersville, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and special pets, Daisy and Bella.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2023 in the Broome Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2023 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bryan Carpenter and Rev. Todd Pierce officiating.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2023 at Courtney Cemetery.
