Roger Franklin Menzel

Rogersville:  Roger Franklin Menzel, age 87, of Rogersville, went to be with the Lord Monday, April 4, 2022.  Roger was born August 13, 1934 in Iowa.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force.  Roger was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.  He was a member of the Jaycees from 1965-1975 and served as the National Director of Jaycees from 1971-1972.  Roger is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary "Hammer" Menzel of Texas, parents Alfred and Jesse Menzel of Iowa.

He is survived by his sons Roger Allen Menzel and wife Betsi, and Ralph Wayne Menzel, grandchildren Linda Menzel, Dan Menzel, Chaz Menzel, Brea Lane and Summer Barnett, great-grandchildren Liam Baker, Elyza Lane and Addie Grissom, sister Linda Bowdin, brothers Richard Menzel and Bob Menzel, several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Givens-Menzel Family Cemetery, Old Stage Rd., Rogersville with Rev. Ray Mullins officiating.  Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M.  Family and friends can meet at the home of Allen and Betsi Menzel, 924 Old Stage Rd., Rogersville.
