Ruby Helton

Mooresburg:  Ruby Helton, age 89 of Mooresburg, passed away, Monday, January 7, 2019 at Signature HealthCARE of Rogersville.  Mrs. Helton was a member of Slate Hill Primitive Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Lee Helton; son, J.D. Helton; two infant daughters; parents, Lewis and Dolly Greene Purkey ; sisters, Nan Harris, Mae Kelly, Jane Jarnigan, Elsie Purkey, Vada Carpenter, Minnie Pearl Purkey, Mildred Wolfe and Edna Harville; brothers, Paul Purkey and William Purkey; sons-in-law, Rev. Lawrence Smith and Gary Beal.

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Smith of Mooresburg and Brenda Beal of Chattanooga; sons, Terry Helton and wife, Jeanie, Robert Helton and wife, Elizabeth all of Mooresburg; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Wanda Helton; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.

Funeral service will be conducted 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Helton and Rev. Jerry Dean Buell  officiating.  Graveside service will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Greene Cemetery in Mooresburg.
