Scott Boyer, 64, of Rogersville, formerly of Florida, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024, at his residence following a period of declining health. He retired from Verizon as a Sr. Analyst in Finance Operations after 41 years of service. Scott shared his love of life wherever he went and valued kindness to others. Standing 6’5’’, he was a gentle giant who placed value in family and companionship in dogs, including his pups Nestlee, Nellie, and Bentley. A dedicated foodie, he enjoyed cooking and exploring every restaurant around Rogersville so he could be the local connoisseur. He valued community, dedicating his career to being a company man who fostered professional growth and was blessed by supportive neighbors who rallied around him in his time of need. Scott could not be slowed down, always at the wheel of his ride-on lawnmower, keeping up with his beloved Los Angeles Dodgers, or sharing his comic wit even in his last days. Scott was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Betty Boyer.
Survivors include his wife Angel Boyer, daughter Lauren Boyer Riccardelli and husband Charlie of Texas, son Andrew J. Boyer and wife Chloe Hamshere of Manchester, UK, sister Bonnie Cairy and husband Terry of California, brothers, Jay Boyer and fiancée Kimberly of California and Bruce Boyer and wife Kathleen of Kentucky, several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff of Gentiva Hospice for your kindness and care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m., December 13, 2024, at his residence.
