SHIRLEY C. MERRITT

Shirley Merritt, 96, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 2, 2026.  Shirley was a lifelong resident of Church Hill.  She was a devoted wife, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, several nieces and nephews, and her dear husband, Edward Merritt. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.  

The family would like to extend a special thank you to those who helped them care for Shirley in her final years.  It truly meant so much. The family would also like to acknowledge the unmatched love and care provided by Shirley's late niece, Freda Lane, who spent many years of her life helping Shirley (and others) in so many ways.

Shirley's wishes were to have a private graveside service for her family.
