William "Terrell" VanCleave, Sr, age 89, of Rogersville, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024, at UT Medical Center following a period of declining health. He was a member of Rogersville First United Methodist Church. Terrell served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after many years of service. Terrell was captain of the Rogersville High School Football Team in 1955. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Ocie Yarbrough VanCleave, sister Betty Gray, brothers, Celton and Jerry VanCleave.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis VanCleave, sons Terrell VanCleave, Jr, and Tim VanCleave both of Rogersville, grandsons, Braxton and Cole VanCleave, sister Joyce Mays of Rogersville, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Highland Cemetery with Rev. Charles Harrison officiating. For those that wish to attend the graveside service please meet at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m.
