Wilma Drinnon, age 91, of Treadway, was born on April 21, 1934, and passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026, following a period of declining health. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin Taylor Drinnon, her parents, Louis and Bertha Drinnon, her sister Blanche Lawson, and her brothers, Doyle Drinnon and Clifford Drinnon.
Wilma was saved at the age of ten at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She later moved her church membership to Providence Missionary Baptist Church. She often reflected on walking long distances as a young woman to attend services at several churches throughout the community. Among the hymns she loved most was “Farther Along”, a song her uncle often sang. She found comfort in knowing that God was always with her.
Whether visits were planned or unexpected, the home that Wilma and Taylor shared was always a place of welcome, where family and friends could stop by at any time, whether for a visit or a meal. Their home was filled with love, laughter, and friendship, and many cherished memories were made there.
Wilma’s smile and her care for everyone were always genuine. She cherished the years she spent alongside Taylor, working their farm and the life they built together.
Wilma leaves to cherish her memory a loving host of nephews, nieces, family members, and friends. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in the chapel of Broome Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tony Seal officiating.
Interment will follow in Drinnon Family Cemetery.
